Fan Art post #2

Hey there Bloggers...
Last time I promised you some artwork that could put you in a fowl temper...If you haven't already guessed the reason is because the art is of probably one of my top all-time fan-addictions...Angry Birds.
Now, I have made a number of sketches but a lot of them were sketches made using official how to draw the characters books. To save time and space...I am only going to show pictures that I have drawn that are of my own creation for my own ideas and purposes so let's get the show on the road. I am going to start with the most recent and work my way backwards: This first set of pictures is a brand-new piece of art, drawn on sketchbook paper using a combination of pencil, colored pencil, a crayon-like substance, and black sharpie for the outlines.

In these two pictures I imagined Stella and Red having a fight that ended with Red saying something that he quickly regretted but by then it was too late. These pictures going in order of the labels show Stella's reaction to Red's hurtful words.

This next drawing is something I did last year while taking a Drawing 1 class.It uses a combination of sketching pencil, colored pencil, and some charcoal for the tail on sketchbook paper.

Stella the Valkyrie: This idea came to me while playing the game
Angry Birds Epic (c) Rovio, If you are unfamiliar with it, the game is a turn-based combat
 with different classes for each of the Angry Birds Characters (excluding Stella), each with unique powers. In combat, you take a group of 2-4 birds (depending on the battle) and fight through waves (between 1 and 10) of pig-based enemies.   

 These next two pieces I did around the same time as the one above, with the major difference being these were created using the Microsoft window's paint program.

This one is a drawing based upon a cross over of Angry Birds Epic and Angry Birds Stella (now discontinued) which was similar to the regular Angry Birds game except for the majority of the playable characters were female (only one boy) but despite this was a very fun and challenging game, and I was sad when I asked Rovio about some news I heard about the game being scrapped in favor of another game, and was told it was true...Anyways, this drawing shows my idea of what a Stella-based Angry Birds Epic might have for it's title screen. I am also including a picture of the regular A.B. Epic title screen for reference and comparison.

And Finally, this is one that I pulled together just today, it shows two characters from the cartoon Angry Birds Stella (left to right) Artist Pig and Willow enjoying each other's company while painting a sunset picture from one of the cliffs on their home called Golden Island. I will tell you now that this isn't the last you've seen of Angry Birds art on this blog so if by chance you are allergic to Angry Birds or something like that then consider yourself duly warned.

Fan Art post #1

Hey there bloggers, I just want to say that I'm back...
This week I am going to go for the double punch so-to-speak, I am posting two count 'em two separate posts this week so as to make up for not doing last week on account of spring break. This first one has two pictures I did for a fan-fiction writer with their explicit permission mind you. If you are unfamiliar with fan fiction it is something worth checking out. Now I know that stereotypes abound with fan fiction writers being typically girls of the preteen age group fitting in with the screaming fan girl and writing nothing but saccharine-sweet romance stories. Well, I won't deny that there are certainly writers who fit that model, but in my own experiences, there are writers who put a great deal of effort into their stories, These two pictures come from such a story.
The story's title is All of My Heart written by the talented individual known as Sorrelwing, It is a story that takes place in the world from the movies Rio and Rio 2. You don't have to see the movies to make sense of what is going on, but it might make things a bit easier. Anyways, on to the art

This is an original character that belongs to Sorrelwing, his name is Rojo and he a Scarlet Macaw and Leader of the Scarlet Macaw Tribe, I will not say any more save for I did this picture using a combination of colored pencils, charcoal, and sketching pencils on sketchbook paper. 

 This lovely lady is Pearlina, Rojo's mate and the beloved matriarch of the Scarlet Macaw Tribe; I also drew her on sketchbook paper using a combination of colored pencils, sketching pencils, and maybe a bit of charcoal around her beak and feet.

Stay tuned for the next post where I will exhibit some art from one of my top 10 addictions of all time...I don't want to spoil the surprise, but being the nice guy that I am I will give you a hint...These pictures might just leave you with a fowl temper.

Week 8- Tracing is an art form

This week I am posting 3 drawings I did several years ago during a Looney Tunes obsession I was going through at the time.
To be more specific my obsession was over the worlds (as far as I'm concerned) favorite lagomorph
Miss Lola Bunny who made her debut as a no-nonsense girl in the 1997 movie Space Jam.

I will just say now basically a disclaimer that the following drawings are not original works, but are mostly based off of tracings I did using a tablet as essentially a light-box and then just edited them to fit what I saw in my head at the time. And I will also extend a note that being I am no expert when it comes to female fashion, got some assistance picking colors from a class mate at the time who was happy to render her services.

This first drawing was done in colored pencil on plain-old printer paper

  

Drawing No.2 was done using charcoal on my favorite doodling platform (*drumroll*) printer paper

And this last one was done using colored pencil and maybe a touch of charcoal on printer paper

If you are interested in drawing of course there are numerous sites on the World Wide Web, but I will make it easier by posting a YouTube video on drawing Lola by hand, the majority of videos I found (which was surprisingly few in my opinion) were either about drawing/coloring on a computer-drawing platform like Adobe Photoshop or if they were about hand drawing were very poorly executed in regards to the video-recording in that it was shaky, blurry, or jumping all over except for where we wanted it.

And as always feel free to leave critiques I am no snob when it comes to my artwork and will not take offense to constructive criticism, if it is non-constructive I will most likely just ignore it or delete it.

Week 7 Part 2: Photo gallery

Hey there Bloggers, it is now time for some photographic nostalgia . This presentation is best viewed in a comfortable chair or couch with a large bag of popcorn and perhaps a cold drink (take that as you will).

Week 7: The wonderful world of Piggies

Hey there Bloggers, I hope you have enjoyed this blog as much as I have enjoyed making it I will admit freely that due to outside obligations (namely other classes) and my own procrastination issues I have not been spending as much time as I would like maintaining this blog. and just a note to people who have only glimpsed at my blog, do not hesitate to leave constructive criticism in the comments box, I am fairly new to this whole building a blog thing so I am bound to make mistakes.
Anyways, this whole thing about procrastination makes me think of a particular breed of animal that is known for its really laid back attitude that being pigs. Now I know what you are thinking "What do pigs have to do with art?" Well, perhaps I should have been more specific I am not talking about the pigs you see on the farm or in children's educational programming. I am talking about that certain breed of green pigs given birth by Rovio the company that brought us Angry Birds (c) and all the spin-off games, comics, cartoons, and in a few months a full motion picture.
I have here three drawings I did for an idea that I came up with that took the Angry Birds and the Bad Piggies in one of those "time-travel" sort of games. These are not my best drawings I will be the first to admit but I had fun drawing them.

This one if you have difficulty reading the writing is called Napoleon Bonapork
and the caption reads: "Viva la Oink!"

This one is called Pablo Pigcasso

 This one is probably the goofiest of the lot, on account of the numerous bad puns (and trust me if I say a pun is bad well, you know it is really corny). It is called William Hogspeare and the quotes read: "To Eat or Not to Eat that is the Question?"  and "Oh what is in a name? An egg by any other name would taste as yummy!"

I am currently working on a pig-based comic strip idea and when I get it completed and polished I will see that it gets put up for you my semi-adoring fans.
